About Silosset

Fixed asset management, built in Namibia

Silosset is fixed asset management software that keeps one register of every asset an organisation owns: where it is, who has it, and what it is worth. It is built in Windhoek for organisations in Namibia and Southern Africa.

The asset register in Silosset, listing tag, name, category, location, status and opening book value for each asset

Silosset is used by

  • Institute of Chartered Accountants of Namibia (ICAN)
  • One Economy Foundation
  • Meyabase

What Silosset does

Silosset covers an asset's whole life: buying it, labelling it, handing it out, counting it, depreciating it and finally disposing of it.

Asset register and QR labels

One register of every asset, with its cost, location, holder, files and custom fields. Silosset prints QR labels, and scanning one with a phone opens the asset.

Asset tracking →

Assignments and returns

Hand assets to people with a due-back date and an electronic signature, and see everything that is out and how late it is. Kits go out and come back together.

Assignments and lifecycle →

Stock counts

An audit group counts one location over a window. Counters scan labels with a phone and record condition, and the count shows what has not been found, so missing assets surface while someone can still look for them.

Audits and stock counts →

Depreciation

Straight line, declining balance, sum of the years' digits and units of production, posted monthly on a schedule. Every period is kept per asset, so the book value can always be traced.

Depreciation →

Reports and Excel exports

Financial, operational, lifecycle, upcoming and summary reports, filtered by period and location. The asset register, depreciation schedule and audit trail export to Excel.

Reports and exports →

Administration and automations

Per-action permissions for each member, and automations that email returns due, maintenance, warranty and end-of-life notices without anyone remembering to send them.

Roles and permissions →

What makes Silosset different

1

Built and supported in Namibia

The people who answer your email are the people who build the product, in Windhoek. Every message gets a reply within 24 hours, and amounts read in N$ or your own currency.

2

Nothing to install, no scanners to buy

Silosset runs in the browser on any computer or phone. A phone camera scans the labels, and labels print on A4 or on a label printer you already have.

3

Four depreciation methods, posted every month

Silosset posts depreciation itself on a schedule and keeps each period, rather than calculating a figure once a year in a spreadsheet. Opening balances carry over for assets you already own.

4

Every change has a name and a date

Each asset keeps a full history of edits, moves, assignments, counts and write-downs, with who did it. Auditors read the trail instead of asking for it.

5

More than 80 individual permissions

Access is granted per action, such as approving assets or running a count, not just per page, and can be limited to certain locations. Start from a preset such as Manager, Technician, Auditor or Finance and adjust it.

6

Hosted or on your own servers

Use the hosted service at app.silosset.com, or run the on-premises edition in your own environment under licence when data must stay in-house.

Who uses Silosset

Silosset is used by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Namibia (ICAN), the One Economy Foundation and Meyabase. It is built for:

  • Professional bodies and membership institutes that must account for every asset to their council and auditors
  • Foundations and NGOs managing donor-funded equipment across programmes and sites
  • Technology companies issuing laptops, phones and monitors to staff
  • Logistics, mining and construction firms with vehicles, plant and tools at several branches
  • Finance teams that need a depreciation schedule and asset register their auditors accept
  • Organisations that must keep data on their own servers, using the on-premises edition

The team behind Silosset

Silosset started in 2025 when an accountant and a software engineer in Windhoek kept seeing the same thing: organisations tracking thousands of assets in spreadsheets that nobody trusted at audit time. They built the register they wished those organisations had. Silosset is a product of M-Base Technologies (Pty) Ltd, a Namibian software company.

Frequently asked questions

Who makes Silosset?

Silosset is made by M-Base Technologies (Pty) Ltd, a Namibian software company that trades as Meyabase. It was founded on 22 April 2025 by Axel Mukwena and Jordan Simon and is based in Windhoek.

Is Silosset only for organisations in Namibia?

No. It is built in Namibia, but each organisation sets its own currency, timezone and fiscal year, and we serve organisations across Southern Africa.

How long does it take to get started?

You can create an organisation and add assets the same day. If you already keep a register in Excel, you import it and Silosset checks every row before anything is saved; we help prepare the file if you need it.

Do we need to buy scanners or install an app?

No. Silosset runs in the browser, and any phone camera scans its QR labels. You print the labels yourself on A4 or send them to a label printer.

Can Silosset run on our own servers?

Yes. The on-premises edition runs in your own environment with your own storage, under an annual licence. The hosted service at app.silosset.com suits most organisations.

How do I reach the team?

Email support@silosset.com, call +264 81 603 5965, or use the chat on this site. We reply within 24 hours, and you speak to the people who build the product.
